Okay, limited pictures because the camera can’t seem to make it from it’s little cord on my desk back over to my stitching area…across the room. I know. But you know what, it’s okay, because I haven’t crossed a lot of x’s in the last 2 weeks. I have a little bit of yellow framework done on BoInk, and more inky-indigo-ness on Fairy Sisters. Advent Day #11 is NOT done (imagine that). So what did I accomplish in 2 weeks?
***TTE2 Altoid Tin (it’s going to the post office today, so you’ll see a pic sometime next week). I’m very happy with the stitching part, I’m a little less thrilled with the finish (but I’m super hard on my self, and I really hope the recipient likes it). I didn’t think it all the way through before I started gluing. If you learn anything from me today – think things all the way through before gluing.
***My teal top is done! Really and truly finished! Hanging-in-my-closet-done! I sewed the buttons on the shoulders last night, and no I didn’t take a picture. I was hoping to be able to wear it for Easter – I’ll try it on and see, but I don’t think that it will fit properly across the tummy.
***Easter sweaters for the girls (here’s Hallie modeling hers over a shirt, lol). So here’s my Easter pet-peeve – dresses are all summery, but sweaters are nowhere to be found. This is my 7th Easter as a mommy, and I can never find an affordable little cover-up for bare arms at a time of year when snow is still threatening. So I made them. This is the reason I learned crochet to begin with – so I can solve my own problems. This is a free pattern from Lion Brand, size small. For Katie, I had to modify the instructions to make it extra-small, and try it on her a couple of times so it would fit. I’m glad I did Hallie’s first – once I understood the construction, it was easy to make it smaller.
Today was our community Easter Egg Hunt – I learned last year that you have to arrive at least 30 minutes early to get a parking spot. This year we not only found a place to park, we were at the line long before the race began. We have another tonight at church – a glow-in-the-dark egg hunt! That should be interesting. I helped with sticking little pieces of glow-in-the-dark tape on the plastic eggs. Now we’re just praying that it doesn’t rain this evening!
Have a blessed Easter weekend, my friends!
