My apologies to book publishers…

But I’m going to advocate finding a book you like in a store and picking it up at the library. When I was in Joann’s the other day, I saw a book called Donna Kooler’s Encyclopedia of Needlework (link takes you to Amazon, with some great new and used pricing – if I like what I find in the library book, I will probably order a personal copy). I opened it up and *gasp* lots of information on blackwork!!!!!! Plus everything else stitchy. So I made a note in the notepad in my cell phone (I love my new phone) and looked it up in my library system. There was ONE copy in Boise, which they happily sent over to my local library. And it’s in! I think I’ll try to pick it up this evening so I don’t forget about it by the time I get back – they’ll only hold it until the 20th!

Yay! Now I’ll be able to confidently do Stitching for a Cure ornie #4 – Blackwork HOPE.

  1. That's a great idea! So often I look at the books and only like one design in it. I just can't justify buying a whole book for only one design. (unless I can find it pretty cheap.)
